Position title Industrial Engineering (IE) Engineer Working location: Haiduong Report to: IE Manager 1. Job description (summary): 1.1. Workstation Layout, Design, and Ergonomics. • Design and layout of the operator workstation. • Methodisation of the work pattern that the operator takes while completing work. • Ensure the right tool is available at the right location within the workstation when it is needed. • Ensure the parts are presented to the operator in the order they are required, and at the best ergonomic height. • Ensure the part packaging 1.2. Operator Rebalance Activities. • Plant YoY efficiency objectives to reduce the number of operators. • Ergonomics concern affecting the operator. • Safety concern that may or is currently affecting the operator. • Quality concern generated from the way the operator performs their job. • Delivery concern where the operator works method is causing the line to stop. 1.3. Rebalance Due to Model Mix and Line Speed Changes. • Maintain or improve the operator efficiency. • Create study plans in APT so proposed balances can be trialled and validated. • Ensure the workstation methodisation is in place (flow, tools, part). • Ensure operator ergonomics are maintained (work closely with Safety). • Work closely with Unions to ensure the process is transparent. • Work with Production to run balance trials. • Validate every job post balance activity to ensure APT is 100% accurate. 1.4. Develop and Maintain the APT System. • Ensure the Plant structure in APT is accurate so there are enough workstations to allocate all the processes to and the Cycle Line Layout will be accurate. • Allocate every GSPAS element for your plant to a workstation. • Create a time study for every direct operator using MODAPTS. • Ensure the time study contains the correct processes, tools, and parts. • Ensure every GSPAS element is linked to one or more-time study elements. • Ensure all CC, SC, and Safety related items are captured in APT. • Validate each time study once completed to ensure it is 100% accurate • Capture every In-Direct job in APT (no time study required). • Create OIS (Operator Instruction Sheets) for each operator. • Create WES (Work Element Sheets) for each key process. • Work closely with Production to capture any changes to the operator balance that has been identified through the FPS Process Confirmation process. • Review GSPAS allocations daily to ensure any engineering changes are captured, reviewed, and updated into the system. 1.5. APT Assessment. • Ensure APT meet the requirements of the assessment tool. 1.6. Support VOME for future model programs balance activities. • Work with local VOME to understand the changes to the production line in work content and report this in HPU to regional VOME IE. Clearly explaining all details that impact plant HPU. 1.7. Plant YoY Efficiency Targets. • Identify opportunities efficiency. Raise projects to facilitate the opportunities Any other tasks as assigned by Head of Department based on Business' requirements


2. Background, qualification & skills: 2.1 Required Education/ Background: • University degree in Mechanical Engineering • Minimum experience: 2 years technical work experience and troubleshooting in a Manufacturing / Experience in manufacturing engineering, Six-Sigma, Process Engineering, Production Supervision. • Others o Fundamental working knowledge of Team centre and controls o Ability to work any shift as well as rotating shifts and weekends o Ability to work independently with limited supervision o Capable of assigning work to unionized hourly workforce and holding employees accountable for following processes pertaining to daily work assignments in terms safety, quality, and throughput o Strong organizational and administrative skills o Strong problem-solving and conflict management skills o Demonstrated experience in accomplishing tasks and objectives. o Microsoft Office knowledge (Word/Excel/Outlook) 2.2 Continuous Learning & Improvement: • Process and Results Driven • Good communication skills • Able to coach others
