JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Description/Summary: Reports to The General Manager and works with the Corporate Director of Revenue of TUI BLUE and the Director of Sales NHA to maximize hotel revenue and ADR by effectively administering revenue optimization techniques and analyzing revenue opportunities via all sources including hotel direct, Internet and Global Distribution Systems (GDS). Active and proactive in achieving results through the management of the reservations team in close cooperation with the Director of Sales and the Front Office Manager. Should have a full working knowledge and ability to supervise, train, correct and demonstrate all duties and tasks, in assigned place of work, according to the standards as set. Duties and Responsibilities To accomplish their primary goal of maximizing revenue for a hotel or other establishments within the hospitality industry, Revenue Managers must complete several tasks. In reviewing several job listings and other sources for this profession, the following are among the core duties and responsibilities of a Revenue Manager. • Develops selling strategies in order to increase the incremental revenue • Creates, analyzes and distributes accurate reports that measures hotel room revenue performances weekly/monthly • Works closely with the Corporate Revenue Manager of TUI BLUE and the Director of Sales in setting the online rates & yielding strategies • Sets yield controls in the PMS/CRS based on the forecasted demand to ensure maximum revenue potential and Rev. PAR performance in conjunction with the hotel’s overall performance objectives • Develops an effective rate strategy & updates the rate demand calendar • Revises pricing recommendations and analyzes them weekly • Creates reports that monitors the daily pick up statistics • Evaluates the prices of competitions. Analyzes economic trends to determine the demand for hotel reservations based on tourism and business travel. • Co-ordinates with the sales department to find out & update the event calendar. • Ensures that all the booking enquirer are treated efficiently by ensuring the highest level of professionalism and response efficiency • Collects and utilizes report competitive hotel information to assists with decision makers • Prepares the monthly forecast in coordination with the General Manager & DOS • Sets up the PMS rates and restrictions as / when needed • Applies the rate control for group business, low yield rooms allocations, complimentary rooms and upgrading, group space blockage and timely wash, especially during the peak season and/or high demand days when expected occupancy is above 60% • Maintains good working relations with other departments, particularly the S&M and the FO • Works with various departments within a hotel to create a budget and use accounting processes to determine the hotel’s revenue after expenditures. • Reports financial information to General Manager and makes suggestions for increasing revenue through changes in pricing and efforts in generating more business. • Keeps close contact with regular guests, ensuring their needs are identified, and communicated to concerned departments • Ensures that system wash down is in place on daily basis including non-guaranteed bookings especially during the peak season and/or high demand days when expected occupancy is above 60%. • Prepares the necessary daily/monthly reports required for submission • Follows up on lost business and bring information about them to the knowledge of the Revenue and Sales and Marketing Managers • Follows closely on any cancellations with regard to deposit and down payment regulations, making sure all are being charged in accordance to agreements • Keeps reservation team members informed on any changes or developments within the hotel and the company, especially where offers and pricing are concerned • Spot-checks same-day reservations as well as next day arrivals and all VIPs. • Trains, develops, coaches and motivates staff to increase productivity • Monitors group blockings & bookings • Works closely with the Corporate Director of Revenue in the online yielding process • This job description covers only an excerpt of the scope of duties, which can be extended as needed. • Performs tasks at the instruction of the Supervisor.
