Avl Technician Leader (Audio-Visual-Lights)

Auditorium Technician • Assist with the setting up of sound/music equipment for music and drama performances including the proper mixing of sound and lights to a high standard • To be responsible for the care and operation of the auditorium, theatre and portable light and sound equipment. • To assist in the auditorium, theatre or other space for all productions, assemblies, rehearsals or other public events • Effective and high quality mixing of sound and lights for all School events. • Check and maintain all cables, mics and other audio equipment AVL Technician • Lead team of AVL technicians over all 3 campuses • Provide technical support to teachers and students with their media presentations • Maintains an inventory of all AVL equipment for the campus • Record any oral exam coursework throughout the school • To source and order lighting and sound equipment from reputable suppliers as required. • To stay up to date with developments for lighting and sound operation and implement these within the school as appropriate. • To ensure that all equipment is safe and adhere to the schools health and safety policies. Music Technician • To support the use of the Music Technology room and ensure macs are running sibelius, logic and garageband software. • Setting up of sound and lighting systems for all school events • Recording music performances effectively for submission for external exams General • To fulfil any reasonable additional responsibilities as may be from time to time requested by the Principal


•• Able to communicate reasonably in English • Ability to read music an advantage OR Excellent aural ability to create the best possible musical balance • Knowledge of macs and various music and recording software • Expertise on digital mixing and lighting desk • Understanding of setting microphones for best possible recording/amplification for a wide variety of events. • Ability to create dynamic lighting effects. • Good ICT skills and knowledge of specific software packages • Be able and willing to train colleagues as required • Be positive, enthusiastic and committed • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines • Able to manage own time and workload • Able to show initiative and common sense • Must be reliable and possess integrity • Must be able to keep information confidential • Willing to work flexibly within a British style school
